Review: mdAxel - "New Folder" Hotkey

Create New Folder Shortcut in Windows XP
I remember years and years ago when I used a Pizza box... er... Powermac 6100 there was a shortcut I used all the time. Ctrl+N. This just made a new folder in whatever directory you're in.
In windows you can't do that... at all. You have to right click in the directory, go to the "new" item, wait for that to load thanks to it sometimes going strange, click new, then go back and click on your new folder to rename it... it's just a terrible mess.
Well, I've found a nifty little app that fixes that for you. mdAxel.

Basically what it does is it lets you define any keystroke you want to make a new folder. Personally, I've gone with Meta+N. (Or "Windows-key" if you prefer that.)

    Features:
  • Ability to use any combination of Alt, Ctrl, Shift, Meta, alphanumeric, and function keys.
  • Built-in startup with windows.
  • Ability to define default folder name.
  • Tray Icon for easy access to program settings
  • Tiny footprint. Currently it is taking up only 800Kb of RAM.
