Re: Lisa McGlaun - 2

Thanks for posting the video. This is a cool way to respond to comments. Thanks for this.

There is an interesting article in the lastest Newsweek magazine about Iran. I think the Bush Administration is blowing things way out of proportion. I wish I understood what they think we will gain from evoking WWIII. Sometimes, I swear I think Bush believes it's his God given duty to bring about armeggedon.

You're quite welcome. The first important thing to stopping tyranny is knowing what's going on, and what tactics are being used. It may be a bit cliche to say this, but if you look at the never-ending war in the book 1984, you'll see my point.

It's as if they're dangling a carrot just past the nose of the American people. What they say is best for us is always just around the corner, just out of reach. And of course behind us is always that shadow of fear that they create. That shadow they fill with terrorists, bombings, war, and endless propaganda about the next big threat on your life.

I think it is quite clear that the president and vice president are no longer fit to lead this country. It is much too late in the scheme of things to impeach them, so what needs to happen is they need to step down on their own (This I know will never happen). Either that, or we need to simply remove their power until the election process is over.

Whoa..when did WW3 come up? I missed that. That's scary. I think you are dead on with your insight about the media.

Lisa

In a recent press conference he said: "So I've told people that, if you're interested in avoiding World War Three, it seems like you ought to be interested in preventing them [Iran] from having the knowledge necessary to make a nuclear weapon."

Is it just me, or is he just constantly upping the ante? First it's warnings of terror attacks in our backyard, so we go fight in Afghanistan; Then it's the terrorists being harbored in Iraq, so we go fight in Iraq; Then they'll follow us home, so we can't bring the troops home.
Now it's not even terrorists anymore. He's actually playing the "If you don't do what I say, it'll be WWIII" card.

Let's just hope that he idiot doesn't get his way, there is no way we could possibly sustain a war in Iran. That is unless he is just trying to have so many people going to war at once that it requires a draft.

I'm so glad you wear your evildoer shame as a badge of honor. When Jesus returns and registers as a Republican, you will have to change your ways! Until then, I will pray for you. Well, not so much pray, as attack you to make myself feel better for hating children, old people, black people, gay people, women, and bananas.

*hums a little tune after saying R.E. Blanca DeBree to himself*

Good, then we are in agreement in this. Thank you quite a bit for my evildoer badge. You know, I am gay, so can I have another for that as well?

Also, I think that if Jesus came back to see how the current administration was running things he might be a more than a tad annoyed. I believe he said to kind to your fellow man, not blow them up, among other things.
In fact, if he came back, he should run for president! Sure, there's rules saying that you have to be born in the US... but come on, he is Jesus.

I think he would run things VERY differently from the republican party.
For starters, I'm sure he would frown over the 100,000 plus deaths in Iraq.
Next, what about Bush vetoing healthcare for sick children? Didn't he say to help the poor and needy?

And nothing wrong with bananas. They're great! Chips, in a sunday, in a strawberry-banana milkshake...

5.6 Earthquake Hits the San Francisco Bay Area

I was outside with a couple friends when I suddenly heard the trees start to shake in the distance, followed quickly by the bench I was seated upon. One of them started to freak out for a moment as he had never been in a more major earthquake before.

i just watched network about 7 mos ago and it is so relevant it's scary.
___

I know, I had just watched it myself quite recently. Absolutely everything he was saying was basically what is going on in the world today.
It seems like more and more that the "news" that makes it on TV is the same "news" that gets them the highest ratings, that makes them the money.
It's a sad day and age when OJ Simpson botching a robbery is bigger news than soldiers dying in Iraq, Blackwater running amok, and Bush saying the dreaded words "World War 3."

The media is supposed to be responsible for keeping the people informed of what the government is doing. It is a part of the checks and balances. When that gets tipped in one direction too far, we get situations like the one we're currently in.

Huzzah, I'm a Left-wing Evildoer!

According to Blanca DeBree's Blog I'm "nothing but trash created by the Loonie Left to destroy our way of life." Even lumped in with sites like Crooks and Liars, Dailykos, Faithfully Liberal, and Within Reason.

Yay! I, for one, shall wear my liberal, left wing witches hat proudly!

Oh, love your blog too, DeBree! All too amusing, and a great read. In fact, you almost single-handedly cheered me up today. ^^

BS is Most Important Issue to Voters Today.

Poll: Bullshit Is Most Important Issue For 2008 Voters

All thanks to the news media. No longer to we care about a person's stance on an issue, their previous experience, or anything... actually relevant. Instead, we focus on stupid things, like what the candidate is wearing.
A good example of this is the media's recent hyper-focusing on Obama not wearing a damned pin on his lapel, or other stupid things of that nature.

What about things that are important? Perhaps the candidate's stance on Bush's recent veto of a bill that would give health care to about 4,000,000 uninsured children? What about this administrations plans to attack Afganistan Iraq Iran? What about the horrible things that Blackwater is doing; Firing on the innocent population of Iraq and even drawing guns on US soldiers? (The original Newsweek article is no longer available to view from what I can tell.)

Why do Americans even pay attention to the major news outlets anymore? Is it because it's entertaining?

Wake the hell up, people! Look at what this administration is doing! Don't just sit idly by while the news distracts you with the latest stupid thing that OJ Simpson did!

It's time to get mad!

I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!

970 Dollars and a Camcorder

This is all it takes to get a poor, stupid person to sign a contract to allow pesticides to be routinely sprayed in their homes... for two years. Oh yes, you need to have a child, or else you don't qualify.

That's right, major pesticide companies like Monsanto(The US leader in pesticides), The company that brought you bovine growth hormones are sponsoring testing of known toxins on children.
Despite the establishment of the Nuremberg Code, and despite ethical judgement, this is still taking place.
In case you don't know, after WWII, this code was put together to make sure that any tests on humans would be consented to by those persons; it would be beneficial to them; all steps would be taken to minimize any possible risk of death, injury, or disability; and the results would be impossible to get any other way.

What is beneficial to a developing child to be exposed to pesticides?

Secondly, what kind of idiot would allow poison to be sprayed inside their house around their child? The parents that are agreeing to this are either stupid, neglectful, or overly desperate for money. In all three of those cases they shouldn't have a child, and anyone that agreed to have this done after being warned of the risks should have their children taken away.

Even if they were not warned explicitly of the risks involved, they should have looked into it themselves. The life of your child is not worth $970 and a camcorder.

Today I Was Paid by InboxDollars!

That's right, Inboxdollars works! It is not a scam, unlike so many other sites.
Here's a pic of my check even!
I joined on the 28th of July, and was paid today, October 3rd, so just a bit more than two months total. It would likely have been faster had I joined nearer the beginning of a month, what with the InboxDollar beginning-of-the-month paying scheme.

It took me next to no work at all for me to do this, too! If you want to make some money easy, albeit not too fast, you should join the site yourself. It's entirely free to you, and if you join by the link below you'll be helping me out greatly.
If you'd rather just join the site without being referred by me for some reason, you can just click here. I humbly request that you reconsider, though.

So-called Non-lethal Weapons

Okay, what does a police officer need with a weapon that will electrocute someone at 30 meters? This new wireless taser is basically a combination of the ideas of a rubber bullet and a stun-gun. As said in the video it will not only hurt a whole lot when it hits you, but you're shocked for 20 seconds, leaving you convulsing on the ground and unable to move. Not only that, but if you attempt to pull it out, your hand gets a nasty shock as well.
Currently, a conventional taser has an effective range of about 10 meters. This distance would take an average person at least a second or so to cover at full sprinting speed. Add in acceleration and you're up to about two seconds. This is just to get from 10m away to an officer's face.
Now, while this doesn't seem like much time, you need to remember that it only takes a fraction of a second to pull the trigger of a taser. If a person is doing something that would warrant the use of weapon, and they're that close already, the officer is already likely to have it drawn and ready.

But what if the suspect is 30 meters away? Well, now you have five seconds or so before your target can get to you, so it's obviously not needed as a self defense weapon. They're too far away to be of any harm to you.

Well, what if they're threatening someone else? Well, I don't think pointing a 12 gauge shotgun at them is going to help matters too much. This system isn't going to be accurate enough to take out someone that's holding a hostage, so that's out.

So, what else could this be used for? Perhaps it will be used in the same manner that rubber bullets are being used now? At the moment this so-called "nonlethal" weapon is used more and more against non-violent protesters.

The problem is that police seem to have the mindset of "these weapons aren't normally lethal so they're okay to use against people." They seem to forget that they are still weapons, and the people they're firing at are unarmed civilians, most of whom are not being violent. That is, not violent, unless there's some planted police provoker there.

Just imagine the scene. A wall of police marching down the street with riot shields and ski-masks. Just behind them are the second line, formally armed with rubber bullets, they are now armed with the new 30m range wireless taser. Again and again they fire into the crowd, shocking people for a full 20 seconds after getting hit with a device that hurts, alot.

What more, these devices are fired from any 12 gauge shotgun. These guns are carried in every police car already. Aside from color, they also look just like a normal shotgun bullet, so there is a chance the wrong ammo could be loaded and fired, resulting in death or serious injury, and in the scenario above, it would be nearly impossible to tell who fired the wrong shell.

Use of these "non-lethal" weapons against civilians is wrong by any measure , because they are still weapons. They give the wrong impression to the people using them. They're becoming a 'first response' choice more and more. It has to stop!
